What is the mission of the Union Rescue Mission?

We exist to exalt the name of Jesus Christ, share the good news of the gospel, and make disciples.  Our services are designed to provide:

  • Rescue-We provide a safe, secure bed for men at night, diapers and formula for struggling families, and food boxes. We want people to be safe and healthy
  • Recovery- We provide support for men in many types of recovery. Our goal is to give them a place to catch their breath, lessen anxiety, and heal from their trauma.
  • Restoration-We provide spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical components to our program for free or for a greatly reduced cost.
  • Re-engagement- Our goal is for these men to finish our program with a church family, a job, a budget, and a plan to navigate life.

We do this through the 24/7, 365-day emergency overnight shelter for men that we operate and the residential programs designed to equip men to live independently again engaging their families and communities.  Additionally, the Union Rescue Mission provides weekly (and Thanksgiving/Christmas) food box distribution to families in need.  Throughout the year, we distribute donations received from Amazon and other entities to other not-for-profits/ministries, that house women, children, and families.

What are the biggest challenges Union Rescue Mission is facing right now?

The number of men, women, and families suffering from homelessness and poverty is growing.  We need additional resources to meet the growing need.

How can the community get involved to help meet these challenges?

We are easy with which to partner!  You can help with prayer, non-perishable food drives, used clothing and new clothing and personal hygiene items for men, and  financial support.  We also accept used cars in any condition!
