Knowing When to Use AI (Part 4): Your Anti-Stuck Strategy

We’ve covered AI as a brainstorm buddy, a savvy sidekick, and a document translator. But what about those moments when you just… can’t… move… forward?

Yep, AI’s good for that too.

  • When You’re Staring at the Cursor
  • You’ve got a deadline. A goal. A solid idea. And absolutely no clue how to start.
  • Or worse—you started, and now you’re frozen mid-sentence, debating one word for 45 minutes.

This is the creative quicksand we all hit sometimes. And while it’s tempting to walk away or spiral into overthinking, AI can give you a gentle shove back into motion.

You can say:

  • “Give me 10 ways to rephrase this.”
  • “Write three endings to this paragraph.”
  • “What’s another way to explain this idea to someone new?”

Boom. Momentum restored.

When You’re Out of Gas but Still Have to Go

Sometimes we’re stuck not because we’re confused—but because we’re exhausted. The task isn’t even hard… it’s just too much.

Think of the repetitive stuff:

  • Drafting meeting recaps
  • Rewording the same note for 5 different emails
  • Filling out the bones of a report template

AI isn’t taking your job here—it’s giving you your time back. Use it to generate the first pass. Then you tweak and polish it with your human touch.

When You Need Variety or a Second Opinion

Creativity isn’t just about pushing through blocks—it’s also about seeing what else is possible. Ask AI to give you five wild takes. Or what a skeptic might say. Or how someone with a completely different background might respond.

It’s like hiring a team of imaginary consultants who all work instantly and never charge you.

AI Keeps the Wheels Turning

Whether you’re blocked, burned out, or just stuck in a rut, AI can help you get back in motion. Not because it’s magic—but because sometimes a little momentum is all we need to do the rest ourselves.

In Part 5, we’ll wrap things up with some important don’ts—when AI might do more harm than good, and how to avoid those pitfalls.
